The First Baptist Church was organized on March 13, 1898 in Grafton, Illinois. We are an independent, fundamental Baptist Church that stands on the King James Version of the Bible as our foundation and use it to teach and preach the gospel to see lost souls saved. We believe in God The Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost; the Trinity (Matt. 28.19). We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:23, Isa. 7:14); the vicarious death of Jesus Christ (Titus 2:14); the divine blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross (Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 1:18, 19); the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:6, 1 Cor. 15:3,4,20); the bodily ascension of Jesus Christ into Heaven (Luke 24:51, Acts 1:10,11); and the deity of Jesus Christ (I Tim. 3:16). We believe that Jesus is coming back again very soon to take the Church home with Him to Heaven were we will live eternally praising and worshiping God (I Thes. 4:13-18). We believe we were left here on the earth to preach and teach the gospel until His imminent return (Matt. 28:16-20).
